Vendor Compliance Audit and Contractor Compliance
We audit every vendor and contractor who supplies workers to your sites, verifying PF, ESI, wages and licences, so you are not left paying their dues as the principal employer. Each vendor gets a live compliance risk score you can act on.
Your contractors' compliance is your liability
Under Indian labour law, the principal employer is answerable for the workers its contractors bring in. If a contractor does not pay wages, deposit PF or ESI contributions, or maintain the required records, the law allows the dues to be recovered from you. For companies with large contract workforces in facilities, security, housekeeping, manufacturing or logistics, this is one of the largest hidden compliance risks.
Nhancesmart's vendor compliance audit gives principal employers evidence-based oversight of every vendor on their panel. We collect and verify each vendor's statutory documents every month, reconcile contributions against the headcount deployed at your sites, and flag shortfalls before they become your liability.
Because the checks run inside Complysmart, each vendor receives an automated risk score that is recalculated the moment new compliance data comes in. Procurement, HR and site teams see the same picture and can hold payments or escalate when a vendor falls behind.

How our vendor compliance audit service works
- STEP 01
Onboard vendors
Each vendor is set up in Complysmart with their registrations, licences and the sites and headcount they serve.
- STEP 02
Collect evidence
Vendors upload challans, returns and registers every month through a vendor portal, with reminders handled for you.
- STEP 03
Verify and score
Our auditors and Complysmart's AI verify each document, reconcile it with headcount and update the vendor's risk score.
- STEP 04
Act
You receive exception reports and recommendations: clear, follow up, hold payment or replace the vendor.
What a vendor compliance audit typically uncovers
The same gaps appear across industries. Catching them monthly costs far less than settling them after an inspection or a worker complaint.
- PF and ESI deposited for fewer workers than deployed at your site
- Contributions paid on a lower wage than the worker actually earns
- Expired or missing contractor licences under the CLRA
- Wages below the notified minimum wage after a revision
- Registers and wage slips not maintained or not shared with workers
Built for large vendor panels
Whether you manage ten contractors or several hundred across sites and states, the process is standardised. Every vendor follows the same document checklist, every document is verified the same way, and every exception is visible in one dashboard. Panels can be grouped by site, state or category, so regional teams see the vendors they are responsible for while leadership sees the whole picture.

Vendor Compliance Audit: frequently asked questions
We audit the third-party vendors and contractors who supply workers to your sites: CLRA licences, PF and ESI challans, wage registers, insurance and statutory filings. The Complysmart vendor portal gives each vendor a risk score across your Bangalore and pan-India sites.
Under the Contract Labour Act, 1970, the EPF Act and the ESI Act, unpaid wages and contributions of contract workers can be recovered from the principal employer. One non-compliant vendor in an IT park, factory or warehouse can lead to notices and liabilities for you.
The CLRA licence, PF ECRs and challans, ESI contributions, wage registers, muster rolls, overtime registers, insurance cover, invoice reconciliation against deployed headcount, and annual returns.
Vendors upload their documents to the Complysmart portal, where PF and ESI details and licence expiry dates are validated and each vendor gets a risk score. You see one audit-ready dashboard across all vendors.

Yes. Attendenz handles vendor worker onboarding, Aadhaar-based KYC, biometric attendance and billing reconciliation, while Complysmart handles statutory validation: one framework for both.
The principal employer can be made to pay the contractor's unpaid wages under the CLRA, and PF and ESI dues can be recovered from you, in addition to penalties under each Act. Monthly vendor checks prevent this exposure.
